I liked this story and I did not stop reading until I was at the end. Prince Mikos of Tygeria and Col Ryan Donnelly of the Alliance are forced into a marriage in order to bring an end to a deadly war. This only occurred because Ryan's sister ran off the day she was to marry Mikos. Mikos tries to be honest with Ryan from the very beginning and to also be open and forth coming. Moving to a new and different planet with different customs and practices takes time for Ryan to adjust, but he had Mikos's younger brothers who very helpful. Both Ryan and Mikos wants an end to the war so their people can stop dying. However, not everyone is happy with this union or ending of the war. The Alliance Resistance makes plans to wreak havoc and to continue the war and break the peace treaty. Mikos and Ryan must learn to trust each other if there will be any hope of a future for them. The conspiracy to destroy the peace treaty and their union comes from every side. The author did a great job of keeping the suspense and keeping you on your toes as you try to figure out who is involved and what will happen next! I really liked this book and I like the planet Tygeria. I look forward to reading the future installments of this series.Product details

This novel was a great surprise. I thought is was an interesting premise that a prince from another world could fall in love with a sworn enemy from earth. That is exactly what happened and to my delight it was a needed relationship to put an end to a war that was raging for far too long. Ryan and Mikos are beautiful as is there complicated bond. You won't be disappointed with this one!!
It was so nice to see how Ms West was able to weave characters from other books like the Alphas & Jayronians with the war raging between the Alliance & the rest of the universe. There are so few well written sci-fi written in rtf his genre that's a refreshing read. I couldn't put vBulletin it down from the first pages. The story is complex yet well written & I loved it.
Shannon has done it again. I love reading her stories of the alliance. I waited patiently for this book to be released and I was not disappointed. Mikos and Ryan's story was heartwarming as well as emotional. Thank you.
While I can't say I loved the book I liked it enough to know that when the mood strikes I'll be reading it again. This is a typical romance novel - important man gets dumped, basically forces other man (brother of the said dumper) to marry him oh, and forget doing anything rewarding other than get pregnant and have kids forgetting that both characters were military men. But ah, such is book love....
I read the Alpha Love slaves series by this author & enjoyed those so thought I'd give this book a try. This was an even better read! Be warned though that you will need a box of tissues near you while reading as it is a bit of a tear jerker! Am really looking forward to the next book in the series. Can't wait to read more of this wonderful, unique world! Excellent! Highly recommended!
I loved the story but it broke my heart that Mikos did not trust and believe in his mate. I want so much to read Davos and Blakes story. And the way Nicarr and Larz are intrigued by Ryan. I hope if the story springs ahead as they are older it will be interesting to see who their Nobyos are.
I'm surprised that much of the wording is babyish and overly girly, and as if written with a fifteen year old writer's idea of love. West does not usually write with so much girly soppiness, though she is guilty of writing just a tad soppy in all her stories. Maybe it's time she tried her hand at heterosexual stories? Still, reading this book was not that much of a chore, it's just that the un-manliness was way to the fore.
